What does TB-500 do? Benefits and evidence
A short piece of thymosin beta-4 with no proven repair benefit in humans.
Also called: TB500, Ac-LKKTETQ, Thymosin beta-4 fragment 17–23.
Healing and repair peptides · N-acetylated seven-amino-acid thymosin beta-4 fragment.
TB-500 usually means a seven-amino-acid piece of thymosin beta-4, but products may contain the full peptide. No controlled human trial establishes tendon repair in people. A 2026 three-case dental report used several drugs together without confirming peptide identity. No approved dose or reliable long-term safety data exist.
- People report injecting it for tendon, muscle and joint recovery, but no controlled human trial has shown a benefit. (Reported by users)
- Some users report less knee or shoulder pain; others report no change after weeks of daily use. (Reported by users)
- In animal studies, a related fragment showed a possible repair mechanism, which has not been shown in people. (animal)
