How GHK-Cu works

A copper-binding skin peptide with small topical studies and untested systemic injections.

Also called: Copper tripeptide-1, Glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper, Copper-GHK.

Healing and repair peptides · Copper-binding tripeptide complex.

The peptide holds copper, a mineral used in repair enzymes. In cells and animals, GHK-Cu changes collagen turnover, inflammation and blood-vessel growth. These effects do not show that injections repair tissue in people.

  • Copper binding: Changes how copper is carried and released; the formulation affects which chemical forms reach tissue.
  • Collagen and matrix turnover: Changes collagen production and the balance of enzymes that rebuild tissue in laboratory studies.
  • VEGF and bFGF growth signals: Increases blood-vessel and cell-growth signals in cultured fibroblasts; clinical effects are uncertain.

Half-life: Human systemic half-life is unknown. Minute-scale estimates are not verified human GHK-Cu pharmacokinetics.
