How Mechano growth factor works

A muscle-repair peptide idea with mixed lab findings and no human dosing studies.

Also called: MGF, Non-PEG MGF, MGF E peptide, MGF-Ct24E, IGF-1Ec E-domain peptide.

IGF-1 splice variants · Synthetic E-domain peptide associated with IGF-1Ec · Evidence: Animal studies only.

The IGF-1 gene can make several versions of a growth protein. MGF products usually contain a short fragment from one version. Some lab studies suggest it changes cell growth or movement, but its receptor and effects remain disputed.

  • MGF E-domain signalling: Some cell studies report growth or movement signals through ERK. An independent study failed to reproduce key effects.
  • IGF-1 receptor: A direct receptor target for the isolated E peptide is not established. It is not interchangeable with mature IGF-1.

Half-life: No human half-life has been established.
