How Dihexa works

An experimental memory compound with disputed animal research and no established human dose.

Also called: PNB-0408, N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic amide.

Nootropic peptides · Modified angiotensin IV peptide; proposed HGF/MET modulator · Evidence: Animal studies only.

It was designed to help nerve cells connect through HGF and MET growth signals. Early papers carry retraction and concern notices. Later rat findings and related fosgonimeton trials do not establish human benefits from taking dihexa.

  • HGF/MET growth signaling: Proposed increase in nerve-cell connections. The foundational mechanism evidence is disputed.
  • PI3K/AKT signaling: Changed in a mouse study; this does not prove a direct drug target in people.

Half-life: Unknown after direct dosing in humans. Long rat estimates come from a paper with a notice of concern.
