Amylin analogues · Long-acting amylin analogue; amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist.

It copies amylin, a hormone released with insulin after meals. It acts on brain fullness pathways, helping people eat less. It is a different drug class from semaglutide.

  • Amylin receptors AMY1, AMY2 and AMY3: Signals fullness; mouse work implicates brain AMY1 and AMY3 pathways.
  • Calcitonin receptor: Also activated in laboratory receptor studies; its clinical contribution is uncertain.

Half-life: 159–195 hours in the phase 1b combination study; about 7–8 days.
