How to store Melanotan I / Afamelanotide

Also called: Melanotan-1, MT-I, MT1, NDP-α-MSH, NDP-MSH, Afamelanotide, CUV1647, Scenesse.
Melanocortin agonists · Predominantly MC1 melanocortin receptor agonist · Evidence: Approved drug.
Comes as: Scenesse sterile bioresorbable implant, 16 mg in an amber glass vial.
Mixed with: None. A trained clinician inserts the implant; it is not dissolved in water..
- Allow the packaged implant to warm to room temperature before insertion.
- Observe for 30 minutes after insertion for an allergic reaction.
Before mixing: Refrigerate at 2–8°C and protect from light.
After mixing: Not applicable. The implant is a finished solid product.
