How AOD-9604 works

A growth-hormone fragment whose largest obesity trial failed to show meaningful weight loss.

Also called: AOD9604, Tyr-hGH177-191, LAT8881, LAT-8881, HGH fragment 176-191.

Fat-loss peptides · Modified C-terminal growth-hormone fragment.

Animal studies suggest it changes how fat cells store and release fat. It does not act like full growth hormone at the GH receptor. A pain-research target, LanCL1, was identified in rodent and tissue work; its human fat-loss role is unknown.

  • Fat-cell pathways involving beta-3 signaling: Animal studies show more fat breakdown and receptor expression; direct receptor activation is unproven.
  • GH receptor and IGF-1 pathway: No GH-receptor binding in the cited cell tests and no consistent IGF-1 rise in oral human trials.
  • LanCL1: A target identified in 2026 pain experiments; this does not establish a human obesity mechanism.

Half-life: Human half-life is undetermined. The later IV trial could not calculate it from the available samples.
